ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

In a general sense, the assessment is considered to be continuous.

1.- 40% of the mark corresponds to the knowledge level shown by the student through different types of exercises.

2.- Another 40% of the mark corresponds to the student’s use level of the four language skills:

        - Oral Expression

        - Written Expression

        - Oral Comprehension

        - Written Comprehension

This is the aspect which no doubt shows the teacher the student’s competence level in the use of the language, and this is in fact what really interests to the language learning.

3.- The remaining 20% of the mark includes: the student’s attitude in the class (hebabiour, participation, attendance, punctuality…), the class notebook, personal work (both in the class and at home, deliverance punctuality, quality, progression…)

4.- To pass the subject it’s compulsory for the student to pass each of the three previous sections separately. Thus, although only one of the sections has not been passed, the student will fail the whole subject.

RESIT CRITERIA

As we are involved in a continuous-assessment system, the whole contents must be updated and ready to be answered by the student at any moment the teacher asks him. This way the student can pass the subject also at any moment of the school year.

The different mark reports which are given all through the school year (as many as three, the final one not included) only reflect the situation in which the student is at that moment; they refer to nothing definitive at all.

If the subject is not passed in June, the student will have another opportunity in September.
